What Duration Of Time Is Best For An Artist To Perform?
Common as it may be, it is fact that when individuals ascend to the points where they become renowned musical celebrities, they possess a particular kind of power over the people. As is the norm with musicians, they go for or create their own shows, concerts etc. Sometimes the audience are trilled, at other times, they are not, their most prominent dissatisfaction being the problem of time.
Let’s take Rihanna for example, she is known for coming late to shows. Her show in Israel might have caused her to lose fans rather than gain some. She kept the audiences waiting for almost two hours. Fifty thousand people waiting for Rihanna to show up. Eventually, she did show up without apology or remorse. And to add salt to injury, she performed for just an hour! The concert-goers where blowing up their fuses on this account, they didn’t see why they waited for two hours for an artist that came to perform a lip-sync for one hour. It was a waste of their $100.
We would have cited as our next example Justin Bieber but his lateness to shows is no longer new, its his logo. So let’s talk about fans waiting for Madonna for hours before she showed up. At least she apologised, but doesn’t mean she spent hours on stage. So yet again, there were dissatisfied fans.
Then let’s come down to our very own Olamide who went to perform in Germany. He arrived the show “fashionably late” and as if that was not enough, he spent just twenty minutes performing! But a lady just would not have it. She stormed the hotel furious. She yelled out at him, people tried calming her down but she would not have it. She was certain she had wasted £25 for the show. Her greatest annoyance was that he walked out on her while she ranted. She screamed “Olamide you are a coward” but Oga did not respond, he kept walking. Maybe she wanted him to come back and engage in a battle of words or for him to come give her a slap. Who knows for sure?
Anyways, the question here is; what time would you say is suitable for an artist to grace the stage and how long a time should the said artist perform for?
