J. Cole “KOD” First Week Album Sales Revealed
J. Cole released his fifth studio album KOD on April 20th and now the first week sales numbers are in.
The Dreamville Records rapper was able to move 397,000 units including 174,000 traditional sales in just seven days. Billboard reports that this makes KOD the leading album in any genre so far this year and the third biggest streaming week ever.
Cole’s LP is also the most successful hip hop project to arrive since Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN., although Post Malone will be challenging that title when the numbers for Beerbongs & Bentleys officially arrive in a few days (currently projecting 440-460k)
The album’s title-track “KOD” also broke a Spotify record last week earning 4.2 million plays in just 24 hours.
Congratulations J. Cole! KOD is available on Apple Music, iTunes, Spotify, and other digital services now.
