Future To Produce Sony’s “Superfly” Movie Remake<\/h2>\n

Future<\/strong> has been keeping busy promoting his Super Slimey<\/em> project with Young Thug<\/strong> and now he adds film production to his resume after news of him joining the roster for Sony\u2019s<\/strong> Superfly<\/em> remake has surfaced.
\nThe Atlanta rapper will be working alongside\u00a0Director X<\/strong>,\u00a0Trevor Jackson<\/strong>, Jason Mitchell<\/strong>, Lex Scott Davis<\/strong>, Andrea Londo<\/strong>, Jacob Ming-Trent<\/strong>, and Omar Chapparo<\/strong> to put a modern spin on the classic Superfly<\/em> film which follows a high profile drug dealer trying to score his last bag before quitting the game.
\nDirector X<\/strong> had this to say about the film:
\n\u201cWhen I went back and watched the original, I was struck by how relevant the themes are.\u00a0The pursuit of the American Dream is eternal \u2013 everyone\u2019s always on the hustle, because you\u2019ve got to be\u2026 and Superfly is about pulling off the ultimate hustle to get out of the game. Our goal is to make it modern \u2013 to make a movie where the style, the art direction, the camera movements are all part of what makes the movie Superfly. With this film, my goal is to honor the lineage of an iconic title that the community has loved for decades.\u00a0I want to honor it in a way that shows a new generation how black culture continues to be a catalyst for new trends in every area, from fashion to music. I\u2019m also excited to be working with Future, both on the music and as a producer of the film \u2013 the original soundtrack is legendary, and that\u2019s an inspiration for the artists that Future is working with to bring a singular modern musical vision to the film.\u201d<\/em>
